This frothy caffeine-free and dairy-free latte is perfect for your afternoon “coffee break”.
When I posted a picture of my frothy, dairy-free chai latte on Instagram (@natalies_nutrition) I had so many of you contact me requesting the recipe, that I could no longer keep it to myself!
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE coffee. The smell of it (aahhh, freshly ground coffee beans – heaven), the taste of it and above all, the ritual of sitting down and enjoying a cup whilst contemplating the day.
However, if you struggle with low energy, high stress or stubborn abdominal fat, I highly suggest you consider reducing your coffee consumption as it can aggravate all 3 symptoms*.
In an attempt to help you reduce your coffee consumption, here is a delicious recipe that will be equally satisfying and make your soul smile.
Recipe: Makes 2 cups of frothy latte
1. Place tea bags and dates in tea pot and pour boiling water over them.
2. Cover and steep for a few 5-10 minutes.
3. Compost the tea bags and add steeped tea, soaked dates, tahini and almond butter to a blender.
4. Blend all ingredients until creamy and frothy.
5. Serve and Enjoy! Comment below if you tried it and loved it :)
Pro Tip: Be brave and try your own nut & seed butter flavour combinations. I ran out of almond butter the other day (don't worry, I survived!) and I subbed it with 2 Tbsp of Hemp hearts. Yumm!
Cashew butter sounds like it would be a great alternative as well or maybe even pumpkin seed butter? The world of frothy chai's is your oyster, don't be afraid to experiment!
